15 year old jumps 7.08m HANG TECHNIQUE TIPS #longjump

In this video we take a look at the hang style of long jumping.
Very apt as 15 year-old D’Mitri jumped 7.08m using it.
The key point - as for all long jump techniques - is to set the take-off up - and you can see how D’Mitri does this. He sets on the penultimate step and drives into the take-off. There are some longer from videos on the channel which go into detail on how to do this.
Next it’s important to hold the hang position - to clear the board and take-off as it were. Then you pull back into the hang and really accentuate the shape.
Finally, it’s a case of lifting into the landing and waiting for the sand. This is the one thing which could be improved upon on this jump.
